Which colours work in a boy's room

Blue is the familiar choice and keeps the room calm, even when it is small. Green is warmer. Beige and brown do not read as a boy's or a girl's colour. That is useful when two children share the room or the layout changes later.

Look at the light as well. In a north-facing room, beige and brown work better than blue. In a room with plenty of sun, blue looks lovely.
