Wallpaper instructions

Decorating a child's room is a wonderful and enjoyable experience, and nothing brings a room to life like beautiful wallpaper! Have you set your sights on our non-woven wallpaper? Good news: this type of wallpaper is incredibly easy to apply and instantly adds ambiance to your child's room.

How do you apply non-woven wallpaper in a child's room?

What do you need?
• Pair of scissors
• Wallpaper paste for non-woven wallpaper (Tip: Perfax Ready & Roll)
• Wallpaper roller
• Wallpaper spatula
• A soft cloth
• Sharp utility knife
• Plumb bob

Step 1. Measure the wall
Before ordering your wallpaper, it's important to measure your wall accurately. Measure both the width and height of your wall, and add 10 centimeters. This will prevent you from running out of space. This way, you can always cut accurately without missing any pieces.

Step 2: Prepare
For a flawless result, thorough preparation is essential. Remove old wallpaper and ensure no residue remains. Make sure the wall you're going to wallpaper is clean, dry, smooth, and evenly colored. Start by smoothing the wall: fill any gaps with wall filler and sand it smooth after drying. Ensure the wall is evenly colored, otherwise, color variations may be visible through the wallpaper. For dry/absorbent walls, it's important to first apply a coat of primer.

Step 3: Cut & prepare
Cut the wallpaper strips apart and lay them out in the correct order. Also read the important tips at the bottom of this page. Pay close attention to the top and bottom of the pattern. With our patterned wallpaper, the second strip is rotated 180 degrees. So turn it over before applying it to the wall. Roll the strips up with the top at the top so you can easily begin pasting. Start with strip 1 and always work from left to right.

Step 4: Glue & stick
The beauty of non-woven wallpaper is that you apply the paste directly to the wall. Apply the paste thinly and evenly to a section of the wall. Use a roller to apply the paste evenly, including in the corners and along the edges. Apply the first strip from the top of the wall downwards. Once the strip is in place, gently smooth the wallpaper with a wallpaper spatula. Once you've applied the wallpaper, use a sharp utility knife to trim away any excess wallpaper along the edges. Make sure you keep the knife sharp to cut nice, straight lines without damaging the wallpaper. Repeat this step until all the strips are applied to the wall. Make sure the strips are glued tightly together without overlapping, so the pattern runs smoothly. You can use a plumb line to check if the strips are hanging straight.

Step 5: Let it dry
Let the wallpaper dry thoroughly. Remove any adhesive residue immediately with a damp, soft cloth to prevent stains. Give yourself a pat on the back because you've just created a beautiful room for your little one!

With the right wallpaper, you can create a calm, cheerful, or adventurous atmosphere where your little one can sleep and play comfortably. Get inspired by our wallpaper collection! Important tips!

1. Check the wallpaper before you start. We supply high-quality wallpaper, but it's possible that a small error might creep in, such as a print line or misprint. Therefore, always check the wallpaper before applying it to the wall or hiring a wallpaper hanger. We don't cover installation costs or other additional expenses, so we recommend carefully checking the wallpaper beforehand and laying out the strips on the floor. This way, you can see beforehand whether the pattern continues smoothly and whether there are any deviations. Spot a mistake? Contact us immediately. As long as the wallpaper isn't on the wall yet, we'll send you new rolls free of charge. If you've already applied the wallpaper, unfortunately, we can no longer process complaints.
2. When in doubt, hire a professional. If you have little wallpapering experience, consider hiring a professional. Properly preparing the wall, carefully applying the wallpaper, and the final result are all your own responsibility.

Extra tip for our Jungle wallpaper
Our jungle wallpaper has numbers on the bottom of the strips so you know exactly what order to work in. Lay the strips out on the floor beforehand to check that the pattern fits together correctly.
