Wallpaper instructions

Decorating the nursery is a beautiful and pleasant moment and nothing brings the room to life more than beautiful wallpaper! Have you set your sights on our non-woven wallpaper? Good news: this type of wallpaper is super easy to apply and immediately adds atmosphere to your child's room.

How do you apply non-woven wallpaper in a child's room?

What do you need?
• Pair of scissors
• Wallpaper paste for non-woven wallpaper (Tip: Perfax Ready & Roll)
• Wallpaper roller
• Wallpaper spatula
• A soft cloth
• Sharp Stanley knife
• Plumb line

Step 1. Measure the wall
Before you order your wallpaper, it is important to measure the wall properly. Measure both the width and the height of the wall and add 10 centimeters to this. This prevents you from coming up short. This way you can always cut accurately without missing any pieces.

Step 2: Prepare
For a smooth result, good preparation is essential. Remove old wallpaper and make sure that no residue remains. Make sure that the wall on which you are going to stick the wallpaper is clean, dry, smooth and evenly colored. Start by smoothing the wall: fill holes with wall filler and sand it smooth after drying. Make sure that the wall is evenly colored, otherwise color differences may become visible through the wallpaper. For dry / absorbent walls, it is important to first apply a layer of primer.

Step 3: Cut & prepare
Cut the wallpaper strips apart and place them in the correct order. Also read the important tips at the bottom of this page. Pay close attention to the top and bottom of the pattern. With our patterned wallpaper, the second strip is rotated 180 degrees. So turn it over before you apply the strip to the wall. Roll up the strips with the top at the top, so that you can easily start pasting. Start with strip 1 and always work from left to right.

Step 4: Gluing & Sticking
The great thing about non-woven wallpaper is that you apply the paste directly to the wall. Spread a thin, even layer of wallpaper paste on a section of the wall. Use a roller to apply the paste evenly, including into the corners and along the edges. Apply the first strip from the top of the wall downwards. Once the strip is in place, gently smooth the wallpaper with a wallpaper spatula. Once you have applied the wallpaper, use a sharp Stanley knife to cut away any excess wallpaper along the edges. Make sure you keep the knife sharp so that you cut nice straight lines without damaging the wallpaper. Repeat this step until all the strips have been applied to the wall. Make sure that the strips are glued tightly together without overlapping, so that the pattern continues neatly. You can use a plumb line to check that the strips are hanging straight.

Step 5: Let it dry
Let the wallpaper dry thoroughly. Remove any remaining glue immediately with a damp, soft cloth to prevent stains. Give yourself a pat on the back, because you have just created a beautiful room for your child!

Important tips!

1. Order all required rolls of wallpaper at once. Our wallpaper is custom printed. If you order additional strips of wallpaper later, there may be a colour difference between the new and previously ordered strips. This is due to small differences in production. Therefore, check in advance how much you need and order everything at once.
2. Check the wallpaper before you start. We supply high-quality wallpaper, but it can happen that a mistake creeps in, such as a print line or printing error. Therefore, always check the wallpaper before you stick it on the wall or hire a wallpaper hanger. We do not reimburse installation costs or other additional expenses and therefore advise you to carefully check the wallpaper beforehand and lay out the strips on the floor. This way you can see in advance whether the pattern continues neatly and whether there are no deviations. Do you spot a mistake? Contact us immediately. As long as the wallpaper is not yet on the wall, we will send you new rolls free of charge. Have you already applied the wallpaper? Then unfortunately we can no longer handle complaints.
3. If in doubt, hire a professional. If you have little experience with wallpapering, consider hiring a professional. Properly preparing the wall, carefully applying the wallpaper and the end result are all your own responsibility.

Extra tip for our Jungle wallpaper
Our jungle wallpaper has numbers on the bottom of the strips so you know exactly what order to work in. Lay the strips on the floor beforehand to check if the pattern fits together properly.
