Neutral nursery wallpaper

Neutral nursery wallpaper is the most popular base, and for good reason. Neutral colours such as beige bring calm to a small space. They last for years, even as the room grows along and the theme changes.

Beige is warmer than white and calmer than a strong colour. That is why it works in almost any room, whether it gets a lot of daylight or very little. In a north-facing room, beige keeps the space warm rather than cool. In a bright room, it adds depth without becoming busy.

Nursery wallpaper with animals

Animals are the most popular theme for a nursery, and there is more choice than just jungle. Think of geese, teddy bears, fawns and safari animals, in designs that are calm rather than exuberant. The advantage of a calm animal pattern is that it does not quickly look childish, so you will not need to repaper in two years.

Which wallpaper colour should you choose for a nursery?

Start with the light. If the room gets morning sun, the wallpaper can be a little cooler. If the room faces north, a warm shade keeps the space friendly. Then look at what stays: the floor, the door and the white of the ceiling matter more than you might think.

If the room is small, a calm design on a small scale often works better than a large pattern. If you still want a large design, keep it to one wall and leave the other three plain. And if in doubt, order two samples and compare them side by side: you only really see the difference between two beiges on your own wall.

Non-woven nursery wallpaper

All our wallpaper is non-woven wallpaper. You apply the paste to the wall and not to the paper, so you can hang the strip dry and get it straight more easily. For anyone papering for the first time, that is a big difference from traditional paper wallpaper, which has to soak first.
