A Nursery with Neutral Colors and Botanical Wallpaper

One of the most fun things during pregnancy was decorating the nursery. It is a space where our child will grow, play and sleep, so we felt it was important to create an environment that is soothing. On January 26, 2024, our daughter Milou was born. In this blog, we would like to share the choices we made for her nursery. Perhaps you will get some inspiration from it if you also choose a neutral nursery.
Neutral colors and baby room wallpaper
Neutral colours such as beige and white are an excellent base for any nursery. We chose this neutral colour palette because it allows you to create a space that is both calming and timeless, and that you can easily adapt as your child grows.
However, we did not want to paint the walls entirely in one colour. We wanted to have some playful elements on the walls, but at the same time keep the peace in the room. That is why we chose the wallpaper with a botanical pattern in a soft beige shade. What we love about the botanical wallpaper is that it not only fits perfectly in Milou's nursery, but is also still incredibly fun when she gets a bit older and the room transforms into a real girls' room.
A piece of wall under the slanted window of the room was sprayed with spack, so we decided to paint it. Of course, we wanted to find a paint color that would match the wallpaper. We went to the nearest hardware store with the wallpaper sample and found a color there that we thought would match.

Functional and stylish furniture
For the nursery furniture we have chosen some classics from Ikea. The wooden bed Sniglar has a simple and timeless design and the well-known chest of drawers Hemnes is transformed into a practical dresser. The white children's wardrobe is from Petite Amélie and fits perfectly with the Ikea furniture with its Scandinavian design.

Decoration and accessories
To further dress up the nursery, decorative accents are essential. The wooden spice racks from Ikea function as decorative wall racks on which we have placed soft toys, books and other cute items. Above the bed hangs a cream-coloured mosquito net from Jollein that immediately adds a cosy and snug atmosphere to the simple crib.
In addition, we have chosen decorative accents in natural materials to add a touch of warmth to the room. For example, there is a rattan ceiling lamp from Urban Interiors and we have hung a rattan mirror from Xenos on the wall. There is also a changing basket made of natural materials on the dresser and there is a salt lamp that gives a beautiful soft light when a diaper is changed at night.

A room full of splendor
With neutral colours, botanical wallpaper and carefully chosen furniture and decorative accents we have created a beautiful nursery. This room is not only a nice environment for Milou, but we as parents are also very happy with the room. We are proud of the result and find it a wonderful place to cherish and enjoy the precious moments with our daughter.
